Earning and maintaining a recognized certification ensures that you can deliver safe and effective programs and services to your clients or class participants based on current evidence-informed practice. It also provides you with affordable professional liability insurance.
NFLA partners provide a range of certifications in group exercise or individual exercise consultation. We also offer certificate programs for individuals who work with children and/or older adults. You must be 18 years or older to obtain NFLA certification.
Certifications and education are available in the following areas:
- Exercise Theory (prerequisite knowledge)
- Personal Training (TBA)
- Group Exercise
- Aquatic Exercise
- Older Adult Exercise
- Resistance Training
All regionally affiliated NFLA certifications provide insurance and are supported with professional development opportunities (conferences and workshops) to help you expand your skill set, and maintain your accreditation and registration. Certifications delivered by NFLA regional partners are transferable nationally and recognized internationally through the NFLA and the International Confederation of Registers for Exercise Professionals.
